The top has been completed!! While it is cute…If I were to make this again there’s quite a few changes I would make to the pattern.
For starters, I did have to make adjustments to the main “bralette” aspect. The pattern itself was WAY off with it’s sizing.
I’m normally a M/L size in the bust when it comes to this and ended up following the XL sizing in the pattern, and even doing that it still didn’t cover a thing 😅

To adjust for the sizing being off, and without having to start completely over. I wound up adding 5 rows around the bottom. Sc, Hdc, Dc, Hdc, Sc, in that order.
I then also needed to extend the top upwards, and ended up adding another 12 rows of Sc, while decreasing one side only to keep the general shape but add more top coverage.
Also added length for the neck ties.
As mentioned before, I did also extend the bottom “braid/rope” on both sides to be long enough to connect in the back without the need for tying them together.
This, I did also for attaching a skirt later, but that’s just my chaos and nothing against the pattern itself.

My final review/opinion of this pattern…
While it is definitely cute! I’d make the Pineapple section smaller and do 9 or 10 Dc to start instead of what’s listed in the pattern, with a slightly shorter starting chain. In my opinion this bit is way to large and just barley provides adequate coverage and the slight change would give that extra bit by making the area just a tad smaller/closer together.
I’d also keep the bottom border I added, it does help with coverage and stops any falling out the bottom. Lastly if I were to make this again, I’d work my bralette panels longer in the beginning and decrease along one side every other row until desired width is reached and then continue until desired length is also reached.
I do NOT recommend this as a pattern for beginners given the amount of changes/adjustments I needed to make. However I WOULD recommend this pattern to anyone that has the capabilities to make adjustments as they go.
