From my postings on the Book of Face, I’ve been asked several times how I do my corset back for my tops. So here is the whole process!
First and foremost I prep my top beforehand for adding the eyelets later on with crocheting gaps into the piece on either side.
This is easy to do!
I account for 5 rows at the end. 2 of them being basic Single Crochet rows. 1 row (from the example pictured) Sc 2, FSc 3, Sk3Sts, Sc 3, then repeat to the end Sc-inc into the last 2 remaining sts (I try and base this row off a multiple of 5.) Then finish the remaining 2 rows with Single Crochet.
This leaves the perfect sized gap for adding the eyelets and keeping them close to the edge so when laced up they don’t pull in a weird way to cause any awkward bunching.

You’ll find next a series of photos to the process of adding the eyelets. The set I’m using I found on Amazon. Unfortunately the specific set I ordered the link is no longer an active listing, but anything similar will do the trick! It’s a super simple process I promise.

Once I have all the necessary eyelets added, I personally like to wrap/sew around my eyelets for added strength, security, and stability.
Plus, it just brings the whole look together to a nice pretty finish!

Just like so 😍
I hope you’ve found this to be helpful, and I hope you find yourself using it on some of your own future projects!
