Been slowly chugging away at redoing the top for the dress I plan to make. I’m loving how the redesign is coming together!
At this point I now how the waist completely finished 🎉 The shaping is just perfection this time around!
I was originally annoyed that making my own dress form didn’t work out and I had to buy a new one.
But after having it for barely a week, I am so happy I made this purchase! Definitely makes visualizing what I’m doing so much easier.
A need to mention for anyone else using dress forms. You 100% NEED to use a bra and stuff it for proper breast sizing!!! The dress forms I’ve seen (and own) are not at all larger breast size friendly. Not even the adjustable ones.
Do this and it’ll change the game for you immensely! Just LOOK at that perfectly curved profile 😍
Many were curious on some of my other socials how I did the eyelets for the corset back.
The first step is leaving “chain” spaces a couple rows before the end of the band and then finish off with a couple rows of the stitch you’re using to create a gap.
It’s hard to see them here, but I promise they are there!
I’ll try and get (if I remember) close up shots of this part when I’m ready to add the eyelets.
For now I’m off to finish the top part of the bralette area and add some straps!
